AFAM steel rear sprocket 428 pitch for HONDA XR 125 L and HM CRM-F 125 X 2003-2012

AFAM offers this rear sprocket for HONDA XR 125 L and HM CRM-F 125 X 2003-2012. The rear sprocket receives the engine’s power through the chain and turns the rear wheel. Its number of teeth sets the gearing: with more teeth the bike accelerates harder but has a lower top speed; with fewer teeth it is the other way round.

Why fit a new rear sprocket?

The benefits:

• New teeth that hold the chain properly and make it last.
• The number of teeth is chosen to suit the terrain: more teeth for slow, tight sections, fewer for fast tracks.
• Aluminium or steel: aluminium is lighter, steel lasts much longer; “mud-release” models have cut-outs that clear the dirt.

When should you replace the rear sprocket?

Pointed, hooked or uneven teeth, or a chain that lifts easily off the back of the sprocket: the chain kit needs replacing.

Choose the number of teeth from the list: fewer teeth on the front sprocket (or more on the rear) gives more acceleration, the opposite gives a longer gearing.

Cross-Mania tip: Replace the rear sprocket, front sprocket and chain together, tighten the sprocket bolts in a cross pattern with threadlocker and set the chain slack to the manual.
