The ITALKIT 18x24x12 mm VZY.419 small-end needle bearing is a universal part. The small-end needle bearing lets the piston pin turn inside the connecting rod on fine steel needles. On a two-stroke, it is lubricated only by the premix: it wears quickly and, if it breaks, it destroys the piston and the cylinder.

When to replace it?

• Play between the piston pin and the connecting rod.
• Needles blued or marked, or cage damaged.

Fitting tips

1. Check the small-end bore and the piston pin: if they are marked, replace them.
2. Oil the bearing before fitting it.
3. Fit the pin and new circlips, gap opposite the notch in the piston.
4. Reassemble the top end with a new top end gasket kit.
