PROX Crankshaft Main Bearing Kit for SUZUKI LTR 450 2006-2011

On SUZUKI LTR 450 from 2006 to 2011, the PROX 23.CBS34006 crankshaft main bearing kit fits in place of the original part. The main bearings carry the crankshaft in the cases and take the full load of the engine. Once worn, they let the crank develop play: bottom-end noise, vibration and a risk of failure. This kit contains the crankshaft main bearings; if the engine has crankshaft oil seals, they are ordered separately.

When to replace it?

• Dull knocking or rumbling from the bottom end.
• Radial play when holding the crank on the ignition side.
• More vibration than before.

At every bottom-end rebuild or crankshaft change. As a Cross-Mania guideline: about every 80 to 100 hours of racing on a 2-stroke motocross bike, 150 to 200 hours on a 4-stroke; for recreational riding, as soon as play or noise appears.

Fitting tips

1. Heat the case halves (about 100 to 120 °C) to remove and fit the bearings without force; put the new bearings in the freezer.
2. Fit each bearing squarely into the case, pressing on the outer race only; support the inner race when pressing the crankshaft in.
3. If your engine has them, replace the crankshaft oil seals at the same time.
4. Close up with a new complete engine gasket kit.
