PROX Crankshaft Bearing for GAS GAS EC 250, EC 300 1997-2015

On GAS GAS EC 250, EC 300 from 1997 to 2015, the PROX 23.6206C4 crankshaft bearing fits in place of the original part. Housed in the crankcase, this bearing guides the crankshaft. A tired bearing gives itself away with rumbling and vibration; it is replaced with the cases split, together with the one on the other side.

When to replace it?

• Rumbling that changes with the revs.
• Radial or side play in the crankshaft.
• Tight spot or noise when turning the bearing by hand.

During a bottom end rebuild: always replace both crankshaft bearings together.

Fitting tips

1. Heat the crankcase half (around 100 to 120 °C) to remove the old bearing and fit the new one without force.
2. Put the new bearing in the freezer before fitting: it will go in more easily.
3. Replace the crankshaft oil seals at the same time.
4. Close up with a complete engine gasket kit.
