MOTUL offers this coolant. On a liquid-cooled engine, a pump circulates the coolant around the cylinder and cylinder head, where it picks up heat, then through the radiator, where the air cools it.
Why change the coolant?
The benefits:
- Fresh coolant carries heat away well: the engine is less likely to overheat in slow, technical sections.
- Its anti-corrosion additives wear out over time: renewing it protects the water pump, radiators and cylinder head.
- Antifreeze in good condition stops the system freezing and the radiator or engine cracking in winter.

Change it at the interval in the manual, or sooner if it is cloudy or full of deposits; fill with the engine cold, bleed the air and top up after the first ride.
