RACETECH OE style Chain Guide for HONDA CR 125, CR 250, CRF 250, CRF 450 2005-2007

The RACETECH chain guide is designed for HONDA CR 125, CR 250, CRF 250, CRF 450 from 2005 to 2007. The chain guide, mounted under the swingarm in front of the rear sprocket, keeps the chain properly lined up. It stops the chain from coming off when the suspension is working or when a rock or a rut knocks it sideways: without it, the chain can jam and lock the wheel.

Choosing the colour

All versions fit the same way: the colour is purely a styling choice, to match the bike or to stand out from it.

When to replace it?

• Wear pad grooved by the chain, almost worn through or cracked.
• Guide bent or broken after an impact.
• Chain rubbing on the side plates instead of running through the centre.

Check it every time you wash the bike: a pad worn down to the metal wears the chain, and a bent guide can throw the chain off.

Fitting tips

1. Remove the old guide and clean the mounting points on the swingarm.
2. Offer up the new guide and check that the chain runs through the centre without touching the side plates.
3. Tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's torque, with medium-strength threadlocker.
4. Spin the wheel to check the alignment, then set the chain tension.
