520MX6 14/48 reinforced chain kit with a standard steel sprocket—a balanced MX setup that prioritizes traction and acceleration while maintaining a robust drivetrain.
AFAM offers this reinforced 520MX6 chain kit in a 14/48 configuration for the YAMAHA YZF 426 cc, featuring a chain designed for MX use, a standard 14-tooth steel sprocket, and a standard 48-tooth steel rear sprocket. The 14/48 ratio—equivalent to 3.43—provides a longer gear ratio than 14/50 or 14/52 setups, further enhancing top-end speed while maintaining sufficient traction for quick acceleration out of corners. The standard 520-pitch steel sprocket prioritizes resistance to repeated stress on the drivetrain. This configuration thus provides a robust solution for riders seeking a balance between acceleration and the ability to maintain pace on faster sections. The standard 48-tooth AFAM chainring with a 520 pitch is listed as steel part number 12323.
