The D.I.D 525VX drive chain. The chain transmits power from the front sprocket to the rear sprocket. Off-road, it works in mud, sand and water: a quality chain, correctly tensioned and lubed, keeps the drivetrain smooth and makes the sprockets last.
Replace the chain when the adjusters reach the end of their travel or as soon as it has tight spots, and always together with the front and rear sprockets if they're worn.
Its patented X-Ring technology replaces the round O-ring with an X-shaped seal, which D.I.D claims is 40% more wear-resistant than a conventional O-ring, with less friction. To close the chain, you can choose between the clip-type master link (RJ), the semi-press-fit clip-type link (FJ) and the rivet-type link (ZJ).
Sealed or non-sealed chain?
An O-ring or X-ring chain keeps its grease inside and lasts longer. A non-sealed chain has less friction and is still popular in motocross, but needs lubing more often.
Should the sprockets be changed?
If they're worn, yes: a new chain running on a worn front sprocket and rear sprocket gets damaged very quickly.
