D.I.D DZ black/gold Chain Master Link

The D.I.D GIUNTO-DZ chain master link. The master link closes the chain. It's the part to keep in your bag: it lets you repair a chain or fit a new one without a special tool (clip-type), or permanently (rivet-type).

Specifications

• Brand: D.I.D
• Manufacturer part number: GIUNTO-DZ
• EAN code: 4525516380942

Who is it for?

• Clip bent, cracked or no longer staying in place.
• Master link seals damaged or missing.
• Splitting the chain for servicing or replacement.

Good to know

Always use a master link with the same pitch and from the same series as the chain (same width, same seals). A master link goes on new: never reuse a clip that has already been taken off.

Fitting tips

1. Check that the master link pitch matches that of the chain.
2. On a sealed chain, place the supplied O-rings or X-rings on each side.
3. Clip-type link: fit the clip with its open end facing away from the chain's direction of rotation. Rivet-type link: rivet it with a suitable tool, without crushing the seals.
4. Spin the wheel and check that the link isn't stiff.

Why D.I.D?

D.I.D was founded in Japan in May 1933 and makes its chains and rims in Kaga, in Ishikawa Prefecture. The brand describes itself as the leading original-equipment supplier to Japanese and European manufacturers, and it is the official supplier of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.

Frequently asked questions

Clip or rivet?
A clip-type link is easy to fit and remove, ideal for motocross. A rivet-type link is more secure on big bikes and on heavily loaded sealed chains.
