The float needle and its seat form the automatic valve that fills the carburettor bowl and shuts off the fuel when it is full.
MIKUNI offers this float needle and seat kit. In the carburettor bowl, a float rises with the fuel level and pushes the needle against its seat to cut off the supply.
The benefits:
Mikuni, founded in Japan in 1923, is known for supplying carburettors to many major Japanese manufacturers; its TMX38 is original equipment on Yamaha YZ125s and KTM 150 and 250 two-strokes: Mikuni jets, needles and slides are the original parts for these carburettors.
Fuel running out of the overflow, an engine flooded at start-up or a groove worn on the needle tip: it no longer closes, replace the kit.
Cross-Mania tip: Always replace the needle and its seat together, fit a new seat washer and check the float height before refitting the bowl.
Universal part: check the dimensions given before ordering.
Which size? The number is the seat orifice diameter in millimetres: the bigger it is, the faster fuel fills the float bowl. Take the original size, stamped on the seat, unless your tuner advises otherwise.
