The hollow bolt that fixes the brake hose to the master cylinder or caliper and lets the fluid flow through its centre.
SPEEDBRAKES offers this banjo bolt. At the end of a brake hose there is a ring, called an eye or banjo. The banjo bolt passes through this ring and screws into the master cylinder or caliper.
Why a new banjo bolt?
The benefits:
- Replace a bolt with a tired thread or a damaged head that no longer tightens properly.
- Add a second hose or a brake light switch without changing the master cylinder.
- Several finishes and colours to match the bolt to the rest of the bike.
Why choose SPEEDBRAKES?
SpeedBrakes has made braided brake hoses and their fittings, banjo bolts included, at its factory in Pratteln near Basel, Switzerland, since 1995; it also designs and makes Tecnium’s aviation-style brake hoses.
When should you replace this part?
Fluid weeping around the fitting, a damaged thread or a head chewed by the spanner: replace the bolt and its washers.
Specifications and fitting tips

Cross-Mania tip: Check the thread of the part it screws into (M10 with 1.00 or 1.25 pitch, or UNF), fit new washers on each side of every hose eye and tighten to the specified torque: a hollow bolt breaks more easily than a solid one.
