The two lined parts that rub inside the drum to brake the wheel, on motorcycles, quads and scooters with drum brakes.
TECNIUM offers these brake shoes for YAMAHA DT 50, DT 50 MX 1987-1997. A drum brake is made up of a hollow cylinder, the drum, which turns with the wheel, and two shoes mounted inside it on the brake backing plate.
The benefits:
Thin or glazed linings, the wear indicator at the end of its range, a lever or pedal that travels further and further, or a metallic scraping noise: replace the shoes.
Cross-Mania tip: Clean the drum with brake cleaner, lightly grease the cam and pivot pin without touching the linings, replace the springs if they are tired and adjust the lever or pedal free play.
