TECNIUM offers these brake shoes for HONDA CR 250, CR 450, CR 480, XR 250, XR 500 1981-1983. A drum brake is made up of a hollow cylinder, the drum, which turns with the wheel, and two shoes mounted inside it on the brake backing plate.
Why fit new brake shoes?
The benefits:
- Get back strong, progressive braking, with a lever or pedal that no longer travels all the way to the stop.
- Organic lining: effective from the first few metres, even when cold, and gentle on the drum.
- Replacing the shoes in time stops their metal backing from scoring the drum, a much more expensive part.
When should you replace this part?
Thin or glazed linings, the wear indicator at the end of its range, a lever or pedal that travels further and further, or a metallic scraping noise: replace the shoes.
