The MOTO-MASTER 110335 brake disc is designed for KTM SX 505, XC 450, XC 525 from 2008 to 2013. The disc, bolted to the hub, is the surface the pads clamp onto. It has to stay flat and thick enough to get rid of the heat: a tired disc lengthens stopping distances and wears the pads.

When to replace it?
- Thickness below the minimum stamped on the disc or given in the manual.
- Warped disc: vibration through the lever or pedal, brake that “pulses”.
- Deep scoring, cracks or blueing after overheating.
Measure the thickness with a micrometer every time you change the pads, and replace the disc as soon as it reaches the minimum thickness, or if it's warped or cracked.
Fitting tips
- Clean the hub mounting face: a single grain of sand under the disc is enough to throw it out of true.
- Fit the disc the right way round (markings facing out, direction of rotation if indicated).
- Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to the manufacturer's torque, with medium-strength threadlocker.
- Degrease the disc and ideally fit new pads.
- Bed in with a dozen progressive stops.
Why MOTO-MASTER?
In motocross, Moto-Master was working with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team as early as 2010, and it backed the MXGP world championship in 2015. On the technical side, the Flame profile of its discs is designed to improve cooling and go easy on the pads, and its Racing GP sintered pads use a backing plate with hooks (NRS technology) that stops the friction material from coming away.

Should the pads be changed along with the disc?
It's strongly recommended: worn pads have taken on the shape of the old disc and won't brake well on a new one.
