INNTECK Front Brake Disc Ø260 mm for HONDA CRF 250, CRF 450 2014-2027

The INNTECK Ø260 mm avant AX69-037-260 brake disc is designed for HONDA CRF 250, CRF 450 from 2014 to 2027. The disc, bolted to the hub, is the surface the pads clamp onto. It has to stay flat and thick enough to get rid of the heat: a tired disc lengthens stopping distances and wears the pads.

When to replace it?

• Thickness below the minimum stamped on the disc or given in the manual.
• Warped disc: vibration through the lever or pedal, brake that “pulses”.
• Deep scoring, cracks or blueing after overheating.

Measure the thickness with a micrometer every time you change the pads, and replace the disc as soon as it reaches the minimum thickness, or if it's warped or cracked.

Fitting tips

1. Clean the hub mounting face: a single grain of sand under the disc is enough to throw it out of true.
2. Fit the disc the right way round (markings facing out, direction of rotation if indicated).
3. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to the manufacturer's torque, with medium-strength threadlocker.
4. Degrease the disc and ideally fit new pads.
5. Bed in with a dozen progressive stops.

Frequently asked questions

Should the pads be changed along with the disc?
It's strongly recommended: worn pads have taken on the shape of the old disc and won't brake well on a new one.
