NISSIN offers this brake lever. When you pull the lever, it pushes a small piston in the master cylinder (the brake pump clamped to the handlebar), which sends brake fluid to the caliper.
The benefits:
Nissin, the Japanese brake maker founded in 1953 (now part of Astemo), has produced motorcycle master cylinders since 1971 and disc brakes since 1974; Honda, formerly its largest shareholder, fits Nissin calipers as original equipment on its CR and CRF models.
A bent or broken lever, play on its pivot, or a folding joint that no longer returns: it must be replaced.
Cross-Mania tip: Grease the lever pivot, set the free play and check the brake does not drag once the lever is released.
Universal part: check the dimensions given before ordering.
