With the LEATT 4.5 Boots, LEATT offers off-road boots that are stiff where it matters and comfortable to walk in, shown here in black.
Boots are the rider's hardest-working protection: they must limit ankle twisting, absorb impacts from rocks and the bike's skid plate, and stay flexible enough to feel the gear lever and the brake pedal.
LEATT was born in South Africa from the Leatt-Brace, the neck protection device invented by Dr Christopher Leatt after a fatal racing accident. Since then, the brand has designed protection and gear tested in real-world conditions, with rider safety as its guiding principle.
Sizes are given in European sizing (US equivalents and foot length in the specifications). Try the boots on with long motorcycle socks and allow a few rides to break them in before a race. After riding, rinse off the mud with water, without using a pressure washer on the stitching, and let them air-dry. Tuck your pants into the boots so they don't snag.
How do I choose my motocross boot size?
Measure your foot length in cm, heel against a wall, and compare it with the length listed for each size; with thick socks, leave a few millimetres of margin.
How do I look after motocross boots?
Rinse off the mud with water after every ride, avoid pressure-washing the stitching and buckles, let them air-dry and check the buckles and sole regularly.
