      ATHENA offers this clutch steel plate kit for KTM EXC 250, EXC 400, EXC 450, EXC 525, MXC 450, MXC 525, SX 450, SX 525 2004-2006. The clutch is a stack of plates: friction plates and plain steel plates. When you release the lever, the springs squeeze them together and the engine drives the gearbox.

      Why replace the steel plates?

      The benefits:

      • Get rid of slipping and grabbing.
      • Restore a progressive clutch.
      • Flat, healthy plates make the friction plates last.

      When should you replace the clutch plates on your KTM EXC 250?

      Measure the friction plate thickness and the spring free length: below the manufacturer's minimum they must be replaced. Blued or warped steel plates are replaced too.
