When to replace it?
- Foam hardened, torn or coming away from its frame.
- Traces of dust behind the filter, in the intake boot.
- Filter that no longer gets its shape back after cleaning.
Clean and oil the filter after every dusty ride, and at least at the intervals given in the manual; replace it as soon as the foam hardens, tears or comes away from the frame. With two filters, you always have a clean one ready to go.
Fitting tips
- Wash the filter with air filter cleaner, rinse it and let it dry completely.
- Soak it in air filter oil, then squeeze out the excess without wringing the foam.
- Lightly grease the sealing rim for a perfect seal.
- Fit the filter flat on its cage, with no creases, and check that it seals all the way round.
