Sitting in the airbox, the filter catches dust, sand and mud before they reach the carburettor or injection, and then the cylinder.

Why a foam air filter?

The foam traps dust throughout its thickness thanks to the special oil it is soaked in, while letting plenty of air through.

• Excellent airflow for the engine, even as the filter starts to load up.
• Washable and reusable many times: far cheaper than a disposable filter.
• Limit: it must be cleaned and oiled regularly, after every dusty ride; badly oiled or damaged, it lets dust through – the main cause of engine wear.
