The rubber tube inside the tyre that holds the air that inflates it.
KENDA offers this inner tube. On most off-road bikes, the tyre and rim are not airtight on their own: it is the inner tube, with its valve, that keeps the air in.
Why replace the inner tube?
The benefits:
- A new tube holds its pressure, unlike a porous or patched one.
- Reinforced, thicker versions resist pinching and punctures better.
- An inexpensive part to keep in reserve for a quick repair at the track.
When should you replace the inner tube?
A tube that goes down on its own, has been patched several times, or has a damaged valve or cracked rubber: replace it, ideally at every tyre change.
