This category gathers striking and levering tools: hammers, mallets, drift punches, centre punches, chisels and pry bars. They help drive out an axle, knock out a bearing or free a stuck part.

To avoid marking aluminium or cast parts, choose a nylon, rubber or copper-faced mallet rather than a steel hammer. A drift punch should be slightly smaller than the hole, so it pushes without jamming.
