Exhaust packing for SHERCO 2-strokes: repack your silencer

Here you will find exhaust packing for SHERCO 2-strokes. It fills the inside of the silencer and soaks up noise and gas pulses. Heat and oil (especially on 2-strokes) make it compress, burn and blow out: the sound turns hollow and tinny, the bike gets louder and loses some punch.

When should you repack?

As soon as the sound changes, the silencer spits black oil or the bike fails a sound check. For racing, about every 10 to 15 hours on a 2-stroke and 15 to 20 hours on a 4-stroke; for leisure riding, at least once a season.

Rock wool or stainless steel wool?

Rock wool (long fibre) absorbs noise best. Stainless steel wool, wrapped around the perforated core, shields it from heat and makes it last longer: you get the best result with both. Remember new rivets and the end cap gasket.
