The oil you mix with the fuel, or that the pump meters automatically, to lubricate the inside of a two-stroke engine.
MOTUL offers this 2-stroke oil. In a two-stroke engine, the air-fuel mixture passes through the bottom end before reaching the cylinder: the oil it carries lubricates the piston, cylinder, connecting rod and crankshaft bearings on the way, then burns with the fuel.
Why a dedicated two-stroke oil?
The benefits:
- It is made to mix with fuel and burn cleanly, which a four-stroke oil does not do.
- A good oil protects the piston, connecting rod and bearings at high revs and reduces the risk of seizure.
- A synthetic oil fouls the spark plug, power valve and silencer less.
When should you replace this part?
Use the ratio given in the manual: too little oil can seize the engine, too much fouls the plug and makes it smoke.
