DUNLOP offers this trial tyre. In trial, you climb over rocks, steps and logs at low speed: the tyre has to wrap around the obstacle instead of bouncing off it.

Why a dedicated trial tyre?

The benefits:

• Far more grip than a motocross tyre on rock, roots and steps, thanks to the flexible carcass and soft compound.
• TL: no tube to pinch, so you can go very low on pressure; TT: conventional fitting, but the tube can get pinched at low pressure.
• On the other hand, the soft rubber wears quickly on tarmac and the tyre is not made for high speeds.

Why choose DUNLOP?

DUNLOP is named after John Boyd Dunlop, who developed the first practical pneumatic tyre in Belfast in 1888. Off-road, riders on Dunlop tyres won the AMA Supercross and Motocross championships in the USA 14 years in a row, from 2010 to 2023.

When should you replace the tyre?

Rounded or torn blocks, rubber that is starting to crack, a cut sidewall: it needs replacing. In competition, the rear is changed as soon as it loses its sharp edges; for leisure riding, when grip on rock drops noticeably. A tyre that has hardened over the years loses exactly the grip you expect from a trial tyre.

Cross-Mania tip: Only fit a TL tyre without a tube on a tubeless rim with an airtight valve, and set the pressure cold with a gauge that is accurate at low pressures.
